    What an incredibly great informative video. You caused me to create my own request for proposal for a residential rental property exterior painting job. I’m usually on top of this stuff and I’ve been so busy that I almost let it slide. But thanks to you guys, you got me back on my game. This is the most comprehensive public service announcement on how not to get into a bind with a painting contract. 😃 thank you.

    What do you mean it’s designed for “blocking” not “hide”? What is the difference between the two? What exactly are we “blocking” and not “hiding”?

    Totally fine to use long as you don't need half your brain cells. ... just joking hopefully. I have a brick masonry skirt all along a garage that was turned into a living room and have had condensation build up all along the brick creating mold. Took the steps on grabbing a dehumidifier to dry the room as it was in 80-90 range so once I got that down there is no more condensation on cold nights so now I am applying this to the very light grey mold. Then will be applying "dry plus masonry waterproofer" both interior and exterior paint. There's not a lot of videos on the steps for brick masonry but hopefully it works out. Open to any suggestions that have experience thanks.

    If you want advice, ask a painter, we use these products daily and we know there limitations. Associates that work in paint stores are told what the products can do, or read the labels, without having any real experience using them.

    Do you guys think this Bin can cover what kilz max restoration cant? Someone fogged with a chemical in my home & the chemical soaked into my plastered walls & ceilings. I painted with kilz primer (2 coats) & 1 coat of paint & 3 months later the chemical smell came right through the walls. Will Bin work?

    Another words we contractors can’t use this product. When it’s 40 maximum you can paint is a exterior door and let it cure for 6 hours and in the summer it can’t be used because the surface it’s over 85 degrees

    Not sure if this is the store's RUclips page or this gentlemen's own YT page. But he's wrong. The BEST way to hide things like old water stains or fire/smoke stains is Zinnzer BIN. You'll see the stain through the first or even second coats but once you paint, it disappears. Other "Hide" primers do not work. When you paint over the other primers, after it dries, you'll see a slight yellowish tint bleed through. But not with Zinnzer BIN. They sell small spray cans - TRY IT! Every real handyman/contractor carries a can of this everywhere.

    Bullshit with the "all colours are available in all lines" Aura has a lot of colours only available to that line. BM has good marketing, I'll give them that, fools the average home owner into thinking its the best. Its not. Its inline with the rest of the companies, but they over charge for what you get

    That’s funny because I’m holding a can in my hand and it says dries to the touch in 30 minutes can be topcoated in one hour. Nowhere does it say wait 4 to 24 hours. Wish I could have a pic to show you.

      We use this paint for covering nicotine walls and ceilings, yep he could have explained this a little bit better I'll try and do it for him, when you roller a wall with emulsion, then cut in around the ceiling skirting and corners, almost every time you would find the wall is dry but around those edges where you cut in with a brush it's still wet, and probably 99% of the time you won't get damp or stains in the middle of a wall it's around the corners top corner of the ceiling bottom corner skirting board where most people are trying to get rid of those stains, and of course know the paint has been put on thick it's not dry,,,, as a rule of thumb yes it's dry within 30 minutes depending on conditions whether type of service etc, as long as the said areas are dry it should not bleed through, here in the UK all the decorators that I know only used this as a primer, as an example, toilet leak and the system what they put those blue tablets into came through the ceiling, used a couple of different stain blockers but this was the only one that covered it, and that was years ago and never use anything else apart from this stuff,,

  • @Jhosepgm94

    I recommend most of them but Aura and Regal ( eggshell / Matte ) pain in the a$$, yes! See the dollars signs.. you'll be spending a lot of money because it has the worst coverage, the new formulation makes it dry fast, not even 3 seconds and your cut ins will have lumps of paint, you cant back-roll ( does not even up ) BM reps will tell you to add an extender that does nothing...so i don't know why this gentlemen talk about "quality"

    • @marcelguarachi
      @marcelguarachi Год назад

      I totally agree. I’ve been using Benjamin Moore regal paint forever nowadays all their white colors don’t cover at all you’re forced to prime and you’re gonna be spending $65 for a gallon of paint.

    FYI: Scuff-X matte is NOT matte. I learned the hard way. It's more like an eggshell! For those looking for a matte, they lied and this will be a disappointing discovery after you did the work. I am so incredibly mad! It potential ruined a design project I specifically needed a matte for. I purchased cheaper Behr Marquee in matte for a different project a few months ago and at least it was matte as it said and a fraction of the price Scuff-X was. So MAD I spent so much money on this non-matte paint!!! Maybe they should relabel their Scuff-X and remove the word 'matte'!

    I tried two 'different based ' products (Kilz & kilz2) on two different pale yellow stains on my Sheetrock. Neither one worked. Looked good when wet but I could see the yellow stain the following day. I put Zinsser BIN on a third pale yellow stain and it did hide it. The stain did not show through with Zinsser BIN. Painted all of them and it has been 10 years and there are still no stains showing today.
